Jesse's Poems

This piece was inspired by The Book of Revelation in The Holy Bible. In 2007, I had my own revelation. I was imagining the vision that John the apostle had while he was exiled on the Island of Patmos.  Then I imagined that vision as a dramatic piece and could see it as a one-man act on a stage. I knew it would be long and take some intense acting. Would the passion of John’s story hold up through this presentation?

Such lines as, "This is the train, this is the train" and  "We are going to Heaven, we are going to Heaven" just reeled through my thoughts over and over.  I was constantly imagining and watching myself performing "JOHN'S DREAM." I was like a spiritual lunatic sharing his thoughts so urgently, just like The Apostle did.
I hope you will all be blessed by this performance.  Mostly it was before God.  A wonderful audience of Three–in-One.

John's Dream

Well, I’m caught in another time
A vision of heaven coming into view
That Mansion on the Hill
Along the Golden Avenue
Me, I’m shaking like a leaf on a tree
At the Sight that stood before me
Brought down on my face as if dead
With these visions going on in my head

Here come the Man, I say, here come the Man
The blood stained nailed scars in His hand
His hair snow white shining bright
I being blinded by His Light
And those eyes, those eyes blazing fire
Me shaking, still shaking, hanging on a wire
His face bright, bright as the midday sun
Leaving this heart pacing on the run

He there among the seven gold lamp stands
Seven stars lying at his right hand
A two edged sword creeps from His mouth
Oh, Lord, I’m ready to go south
He places His right hand at me
With the Voice of thunder and trumpet blasts
And He say, and He say in a Word
“I Am the first, I Am the last.”

He was dead, now He the Living One
Holds the key to everything under the Son
With the meaning of things at His command
Shares the seven stars and seven stands
This is the seven angels, the seven churches
And something out there lurches
And He say, pass on, pass on His Word
For all the churches to be heard

For those who have ears to hear
This is the message the time is near
Ephesus, you’ve lost your first love
You better reach out, take hold from above
Smyrna, stand firm even until the end
Do not forget from where you have been
Pergamum, beware of false teachers
Passing as though they are true preachers
You live where Satan has his throne
Where idols of immorality take a face of their own

Thyatira, I know your thoughts
And the deception that you boughts
Following the ways of Jezebel
That wickedness that leads you into hell
But that is I say, not all of you
Some remain in My will, see what I will do

Sardis, you appear alive but you are dead
You better change your heart the thinking in your head
Wake up, wake up before you go insane
Get on up, strengthen that which remains
Philadelphia, the Church of the faithful love
You’re true to My ways you live with me above
You will be safe from the coming destruction
That is coming to the world with great disruption

But.....oh.....oh.....oh

Laodicea, you are poor, naked and blind
Buy some pure gold from Me and Mine
Get some white clothes cover the nakedness and lies
And some ointment to open up your eyes

Listen! I stand at the door and knock
Hear My Voice, open the door and unlock
I will come in with them and dine
They will drink with Me, the New Wine
And sit beside Me at My Throne
They will be called My very own

There I stood another vision comes into view
And the Man, He tell me the things I am to do
There before me The Throne bright with glow
I hear His voice load like a trumpet blow
All around the colors of emerald and rainbow
The twenty-four elders standing in a row
Dressed in white wearing crowns of gold
With the vision of things begin to unfold

And there the four living creatures
Four faces and mighty in features
Carrying eyes before and after
The angels singing in praises and laughter
One face a lion, one face a bull
One that of a man, one an eagle too
With six wings, covered in eyes, inside and out
Singing, “Holy, Holy, The Lord Almighty.”
All of Heaven singing praises with a shout.

And there is the Man, there is the Man
Sitting on The Throne, something in His right hand
It is the seven seals and the seven scrolls
And in time, the seven trumpets and seven bowls
There’s the seven angels to carry out what they say
In the awful shaking of that coming day
Is there any one worthy to open the seals?
Only the One Who was slain to reveal.

This is The Lamb, this is The Lamb
He stands in the center of The Throne
This is The Lamb, this is The Lamb
Appears to have been killed, is shone
There’s seven horns, seven eyes
The seven spirits of God arise
Sent out into all the earth
Be aware for all that it worth

This is The Lamb, this is The Lamb
He has taken the scrolls
The four living creatures
The twenty-four elders
With harp and golden bowls
Filled with incense, they fall down
And worship is all around
Before The Throne all go down

The Bowls, these are the bowls
These are the prayers, these are the prayers
All the saints, in all of time
Even yours, even mine....yes
This is the bowls, this is the bowls
This is the prayers, this is the prayers
Of yours, of mine, the prayers of all time
This is the prayers, this is the prayers

Look out there in front of The Throne
See the sea just like unto crystal glass
The Lamb holds up the scrolls
Breaks open the seals at last
One living creature with the voice of thunder
And with such glorious wonder
Shouts, “See the rider on the white horse,
With bow and crown to conquer with force

Than The Lamb takes the second seal to be broken
Here comes the second creature with a voice spoken
Rides up a second horse, red, it’s rider given power
To make war and death and killing rule the hour
Now The Lamb breaks open the third seal
Now listen here, this is the deal
The third living creature calls the horse black
The rider with two scales sits on it’s back

Heard a sound come from the living creatures
I was catching out in Heavens bleachers
“A quart of wheat, three quarts of barley, a days wage”
Given from the midst of the scrolls page
A command came, “Do not damage the olive trees”
Leave the vineyards, growing in the breeze

The Lamb took the fourth seal to be broke
I heard the fourth living creature spoke
Look, comes a pale-colored horse, it’ rider named Death
What is to come will just take your breath
Has been given power over a fourth of the earth
To kill with war and famine, animals and disease to birth
Oh, what awful dread is about to come
With all that I see that is about to be done

Break open the fifth, martyred saints in robes of white
Crying out to The Lamb standing there in the light
Only must wait till the cup they bear is full
And all on earth is placed under The Lamb’s rule

Break open the sixth, reek havoc everywhere
Fear touches every lost soul sending all full of scare
Earthquakes, the sun goes black, the moon to blood
And the rivers, the great oceans dry up to mud
The stars fall to earth like figs from a tree
Chasing kings, rich, poor, slave and free
The sky rolls back like a sheet on a scroll
The mountains tumble, the islands begin to roll

At the four corners of the world, four angels stand
Holding back the four winds at hand
Here come that angel from out of the east
Hold back, hold back, hold back till we mark
The 144,000 from the damage and the beast
Crowds of people standing around the throne
Every nation, tribe and race
Dressed in white robes looking to come home

Who are they there among the four living creatures
The angels, the elders, The Lamb, all Heaven features
They have come out of the Great Tribulation
And with all celebrating with great jubilation
There goes the breaking of the seventh seal
Seven angels given seven trumpets from the silence reveal
Call the angel with the incense container made of gold
Send up the prayers let everything unfold(Let everything unfold)

Seven angels take up the seven trumpets and blow
The first with hail, fire and blood begin to flow
Burn a third of the earth and trees, every blade of grass
Till every portion dead and gone and pass
The second blow, fires the mountains into the sea
Oceans turn to blood, sea creatures and ships become debris
The third blows, now a star named, “Bitterness,” falls
Touches a third of the waters, death to many that come to call

Than a fourth, a third of the sun, moon and stars lose their light
And a third of the day turns to night
And the eagle cries as it flies, this is terror, this is terror
The earth quakes and the trumpets blow, three more to go
Now a fifth is amiss into the abyss a star falls
Out of the smoke that arises locust like scorpions calls
Torture the flesh of men until the months of five end
Apollyon, “The Destroyer,” comes to begin

Terror, terror, this is terror, to befall on all
Without the mark of God on their heads and they not deads
Cry for the sixth, let go the angels that bounds the Great River
Let the two million pass and be delivered
Destroy a third of the flesh of men to be burn
Still that which remains will not turn
And the sin goes on and the idols they made
And there murders and carrying on still stayed

I see the great angel wrapped in rainbows and clouds
The face of the sun with fire to bring down the proud
One foot on the land, one foot on the sea
Holds a small scroll and I says, “Hand it to me”
A loud voice calls out the seven thunders
No, this is a secret, this is a secret, what must come under
Eat this scroll, yes, eat this scroll, taste like honey
Oh! No! But in this stomach it feels so funny

Two Witnesses in sackcloth, stand inside the inner court
A thousand two hundred sixty days they report
Like two trees and two lamps they encamp
Speaking out fire to death for those who vamp
The heathens still hold out at the outer walls
Forty-two months before they begins to falls
Then comes the beast to devour before his feast
Lays them two down, days, three and half in the streets

All the heathen dancing like naked before their feet’s
Carrying on in jubilation for no longer taking their heat
But wait a minute, see the breath of God come down
Raise those two alive, terror hits the ground
And the earth quakes, a tenth of the Great City falls
Seven thousand go down dead red, the rest crawls
And the second terror such a scare
While the seventh trumpet begins to blare

Hear the loud voices in the heavens
“Power to rule the earth belongs to our God”
The twenty-four elders take their places
See the rage on the heathen’s faces
Time to reward those who were faithful
Time to destroy those who were ungrateful
Rumblings and thunder, lightning and hail plow
The earth quakes and the Heaven’s begin to open now

This is a mystery, the women dress in the sun
She’s in child birth, she’s about to be undone
Here come the dragon, her Son is born
The Heaven’s take Him, she’s about to be forlorn
Down in the desert, twelve hundred sixty days
All the servants they continues to pray
And the Great War, you know, it’s about to break out
Michael and his angels and that dragon begin to bout

Here come the beast with it’s ten horns
Seven heads and all it’s crown
He carries the power, given by the dragon
Comes to bring the women and her descendants down
He has the wound that was fatal but he is alive
Forty-two months he will contend to strive
All who will not receive will follow his mark
And the Great Conflict of tribulation embarks

He is followed by that little beast who enforces his plan
Raises up an image, the beast, to be worshiped by man
For those who choose to be wise, fall not for his tricks
Figure out the meaning of the beast, his number be 666
Oh reek havoc, reek havoc, o’ er the face of the earth
Oh, for the deluge, the deluge and the dearth
Make way, make way for the end of times of man
He who is not with the Mark of God, he will not stand

The Heavens are rising, Great Babylon the prostitute is falling
The seven angels, seven bowls of seven plagues come calling
Bowls of anger for those who follow the beast
Sores, dead red blood in the waters are released
Sun burns the flesh, darkness falls across the land
But the right see and are not touched by this dreadful hand
The Euphrates dries up, the kings of the east come to pass
Armageddon coming, great quakes, islands, mountains fall at last

Here come the Rider, here come the Rider, He on His white horse
His angels, His armies, His saints riding in force
His name is the “Word of God,” “King of kings and Lord of Lords.”
He brings down the beast, the little beast and all his hordes
Down into the lake of fire they all must go.... the dragon
Cast in irons a thousand years you must know
Released for a time than thrown into the fire
Victory has come over that murder and liar

There goes the dragon, there goes the dragon
Down into the fire, that liar, down into the fire
And the Day of Judgement, the judgement comes
That terrible day and the wicked runs
Then come the Wedding Feast of The Lamb
The New Heaven and the New Earth at hand
The New Jerusalem, that Emerald City on the hill
The splendor, the Glory and all that is God’s Will

And here come The Man, here come The Man
Here come Jesus, come to take His stand
And He say, He say, “Take a good look.”
And He say “ Happy those names in The Book.”,
And He say, “Make known all that you see,
Let the bad be bad, let the good be free
I will come soon, I will come to call
Take heed now, the writing on the wall”

Yes, it is true....( Dramatic interlude )

Well, I may be right and I may be wrong
But I think not, it won’t be long

Well, it’s getting late
Here come the train, here come the train
And it’s coming fast, it’s coming at last
Coming to take it’s own

You got to have a ticket
Says you born again
And the ticket free, already paid
The price in blood
You must receive
To be born again, to be born again

Yes, we are born again
Oh, to be born again, we are born again

Come get your ticket
Get on the train, get on the train
This is the train, this is the train
This is the train, this is the train

Dry your eye, dry your eye
Say good-bye, say good-bye
See the writing on the wall
Come, get on the train
Get on up, get on up, get up, get up, get up
Get on that train, get on the train

This is the train, this is train
And it’s going to Heaven
We are going to Heaven
We are going to Heaven
You are going to Heaven, I am going to Heaven

Yes....

We are going to Heaven
We are going to Heaven
We are ... going to Heaven
We... are... going... to... Heaven.
