The best translation of the word "love" is the name Jesus; That will tell us everything about love we need to know.
"SING A SONG FOR AFRICA" was inspired by hearing stories of Kenya when my friend Lisa LaLonde returned from a trip there. She spent some time at the Stars For Jesus orphanage. Many of the boys there came from the streets. Three older boys, now young men, were able to come here to school in upstate New York. They are doing well and you see how God has touched their lives.
I began to think of those still stranded and lost along the dusty streets in Africa. They are homeless, parentless and hungry of heart and soul, wanting love and comfort. Some had parents who died of AIDS, or were captured into slavery or killed. I can imagine their tears and their hungry eyes and the emptiness of these abandoned children. They are lost flowers in the African sun. They are in need of water, the Waters of Heaven. Then they can blossom as they were meant to do.
So, I "SING A SONG FOR AFRICA."
jj young.
SING A SONG FOR AFRICA
There lies a flower
On the African soil
Hungry, thirsty
Torn from it’s roots
Alone and empty
Without water
Scattered to the wind
Across parched desert
Where there are many
Such flowers, crying
Keep on losing leaves,
dying.
